Dutch striker Robin van Persie, likely will miss the rest of the defense of his country at the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, following the injury.

The foot injury found Van Persie, while playing for his club, Manchester United in the Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk. Even so, he still lowered when the Red Devils travel to Sunderland a few days later.

In the match at the Stadium of Light, the 30-year-old apparently competed with pain. But the last two games ahead of qualifying facing Hungary and Turkey, Van Persie does not seem to be able to repeat it.

"I get a tremendous bruise on the leg and I am very sure there is fault on his part. But lucky, the scans do not show those results," said Van Persie.
