Asier Illarramendi transfer rumors towards Real Madrid is getting closer to reality. Real Sociedad player is reportedly days away to join the Santiago Bernabeu after the two clubs reached an agreement regarding the transfer value.

The 23-year-old player was prepared as a successor of Xabi Alonso is rumored with a move to England after never signing a new contract. Incidentally, they both come from the academy Sociedad.

Responding to the news, Alonso confirmed agreement to purchase Illarramendi.

"He is a good player and could be a major boost for Real Madrid. However I can not say more than this," said Alonso told AS.
