Schalke will serve Turkish club, Galatasaray, the last 16 of the Champions League season 2012/13. Schalke's captain, Benedikt Hoewedes, claim will not underestimate Galatasaray especially when diving away games.

"This sweepstakes is satisfactory, but we certainly will not underestimate Galatasaray," said Benedikt Hoewedes on the UEFA website.

"I know the stadium in Istanbul when he played for the German national team and I know the atmosphere there very special. Stadium great, great city, and I'm sure our supporters will look forward to it," said Hoewedes.

Schalke and Galatasaray had no previous meet record. Round of 16 first leg at home to Galatasaray later on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. The second leg is held in Germany on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
