Football World Cup or World Cup is often abbreviated as the only (official name: FIFA World Cup) is the most important competition in international football world. Organized by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), regulator of this sport, the World Cup finals tournament is a showcase of the most watched sport in the world, exceeding even the Olympic Games.
The final round tournament (refer to section tournament after qualifying) is held every four years but this championship took a two-year period as a whole. More than 160 national teams compete in regional qualifying tournaments to earn a place in the final round. Final tournament now involves 32 teams (an increase from 24 teams in 1998) who competed for 4 weeks in the country designated as host. Innovation committed recently to allow more than one host country.

The last World Cup held in South Africa on 11 June to 11 July 2010 which was won by Spain and the 2014 World Cup will be held in Brazil.
The World Cup is not the first international soccer championship. Amateur football becomes part of the Olympic program for the first time in 1908. In 1909 in Torino organized a soccer tournament named Sir Thomas Lipton Cup. Italy, Germany, and Switzerland sent their most prestigious club tournament, but the Football Association of England (FA) rejected the offer to participate in the championship.

The idea gave birth to the world soccer championship in 1904 in Paris blaze at First Congress of Federation Internationale de Football Association. In 1928, results of operations of FIFA and president of the French football association (FFFA), Jules Rimet and Henri Delaunay colleagues, participants in the Amsterdam congress decided to implement the idea. So the first FIFA World Cup was held in Uruguay and lasted from 13 to 30 July 1930. 13 countries participated - six from South America, five from Europe and two from North America. Uruguay beat Argentina 4-2 in front of 93,000 spectators in Montevideo and at once became the first country to win the cup.
During World War II championship was suspended for over 12 years, starting back in 1950 in Brazil. Jules Rimet Cup was stolen while on display in Stampex Exhibition at Westminster Central Hall, London as previous 1966 World Cup in England, but he was found 7 days later by a dog named Pickles.
In 1970 in Mexico, Brazil FIFA has decided to keep Jules Rimet Cup for being the first state champion 3 times, 1958, 1962 and 1970.
Parent body FIFA later create a new world cup using 18 carat gold, 36 cm tall and weigh 4.97 kilograms and was designed by renowned Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniaga and used until now. FIFA then specify only the leaders of nations and World Cup winners are allowed to touch the cup. Gold-plated replica of the trophy which will be provided for storage by the winner.
